Daniel Stona
Daniel Stona graduated from engineering school and the Centre for International Studies of Industrial Property (CEIPI). He also holds a "European Patent Litigation" Diploma issued by the University of Strasbourg Law School.
In addition, he is an approved agent of the European Patent Office and the Office for Harmonization in the Domestic Market, Industrial Property Counsel for the French National Institute of Industrial Property and a registered Patent Attorney with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property. After practicing in various industrial property offices for nearly 12 years in France (Lyon, Paris), 3 years in German-speaking Switzerland (Berne) and 4 years in French-speaking Switzerland (Geneva), in June 2012, he founded the his own firms: Étude Daniel Stona in France (Ferney-Voltaire) and DS-Pat in Switzerland (Geneva).
Mr. Stona is primarily concerned with patents in the fields of mechanics (general, micro-mechanics, watches, medical devices, etc.) and chemistry (organic, inorganic electrochemistry, materials, etc.) as well as supplementary protection certificates.
He also works on freedom-to-operate cases, establishment of Intellectual Property strategies, contract preparation (sale, licensing, etc.) as well as in litigation (e.g., infringement cases) involving patents.
Daniel conducts business in French (mother tongue), English and German and can also correspond in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Esperanto.
François Griesmar
François Griesmar, founder of the firm Siglex, is an Intellectual Property Consultant in France and Switzerland.
He began his career as a lawyer with the intellectual property law firm, Lavoix (Paris) before continuing in France and Switzerland in international groups (Danone, Richemont, Bacardi). His field of expertise covers brands and designs as well as copyright and related matters such as unfair competition.
Within these groups, he ensured all aspects of the management and defense portfolios of major brands and designs in the world, including being regularly involved in release strategies rights, negotiations and conflict management. More generally, working directly with line managers, he was responsible for the management and optimization of said portfolios and their budgets as well as the definition of global policies on intellectual property.
In addition, he is an active member of several professional associations, including:
APRAM (France) : Board member, 1996-2003
ECTA (Europe) in which he performed interventions;
AROPI (Suisse) : Steering Committee member since 2008 and chairman since 2010.
François Griesmar authored articles and studies regarding trademark law and organizes working sessions and provides interventions and training in intellectual property.

François Griesmar holds a Master of Business Law supplemented by a DEA (Master 2) Intellectual Property, University Paris 2.
Definitions

Patents are official titles protecting technical inventions during a period of up to 20 years.
Word marks, stylized word marks and figurative word mark (logos) are distinctive signs assigned to products or services in order to differentiate them from those of other companies. They are registered for a period of 10 years and are renewable.
Designs are official titles protecting the aesthetics of a product for a period of 15-25 years, depending on the country.
Copyright (or rights of literary and artistic property) are rights arising from the creation of a new intellectual work. They do not require general formalities of filing or registration.
Plant varieties are official titles protecting new plant species for a period of 20 to 25 years.
Supplementary protection certificates are official titles which can prolong, for a period of up to 5 years, the protections granted by a patent protecting a drug or a phytosanitary product.
